I remember my first real job. It was kinda surreal. Although at first it wasn't...it some how became just that!
I was a university student for so long and was so used to summer jobs that when I finally got a "real" out of school, into the workforce job, I totally used the same mentality as I had while I was in school. I thought this was one of those jobs that come September I would either have to leave, or do part time until I can't take it anymore because of exams.
Then September came, and I didn't have to register for classes, then my November (I know it took me that long) I dawned on my. I really was stuck...hahahhahah. This was it...this was what real life felt like, no breaks, just keep going and going...no stops. No seat back and enjoy the first week of classes because everyone is still trying to settle down. No seat back and make new friends, meet new students, volunteer during orientation. Non of that. I felt kinda sad. Of course I was so excited that I had finished school and now I am in the "real" world. However, I felt somehow lost, unsure of what to do next, I kept waiting for something to happen. Nothing happened though. Until the day of my work performance review and salary increment, did I finally realize. This is it! Am a Big Girl now!
